Following is a sample of the many photos and illustrations
featured in the "Flying High With Science" lesson plan book:
Young astronauts with model of a space suit which was created to be used to survive the atmosphere on Mars.

Students should be able to name the 4 major parts of the shuttle, and each part's function.

Students can build a space shuttle assembly to serve as the central display at the space fair. Good-sized exhibits are 6 to 7 feet tall.

The TDRSS is the Tracking and Data Relay Satellite System. Students draw a diagram depicting the contact made from Mission Control to the astronauts while in space, via satellites.

An ozone display helps students understand the importance of gases in the atmosphere.

Students build their own personal hygiene station, just like ones the astronauts use in space.

The Food Galley depicts how food and water are prepared in space.

All astronauts eventually get tired and need a sleep station.
